FAQ

How much is this tour?

The tour costs £645 per person based on two people sharing a double/twin room

What about my luggage?

This break includes luggage transfer(s) between lodgings, so you only need to worry about your day pack when you are moving accommodation. Each break includes luggage transfers for one large suitcase per person. You need to leave it in reception on the morning you are moving villages and it will arrive at your destination by late afternoon.

What about solo travellers and those requiring their own room?

Solo travellers are welcome on this tour and a supplement applies to cover the cost of solo occupancy of a double/twin room and the extra cost incurred in moving one set of luggage instead of two and providing a set of route maps for one rather than two people. A supplement also applies to those requiring their own room. See extra tab for more details.

Am I fit enough?

We offer a variety of different cycle routes raining from 15 miles to 35 miles so there should be something to suit everyone. Please be aware that a good general level of fitness is required and that the Cotswolds is by nature hilly so there are occasional, short ascents but on the whole the routes are quiet and flat wherever possible. Electric bike hire is also available if you are worried about the hills.

When is the best time of year to go?

You can go any time of year but we recommend March to November as the best time of year for outdoor activities in the Cotswolds.

What should I bring?

We will provide you with a detailed pre-tour folder which includes a packing list but as a guide: layered cycle wear, waterproof jacket and trousers, comfortable trainers, warm jacket.

Do you offer London pickups?

Pick ups from London and other towns and villages can be arranged at an extra cost.

How long is this tour?

This tour last for 4 nights and 5 days with the option to extend by an extra night at the end of the tour

How do i get to the start of the tour?

The tour starts and finishes in Chipping Campden. The easiest option would be to get a direct train from London Paddington to Moreton-in-Marsh and then a taxi or bus (No 21/22) to Chipping Campden.

Train tickets can be booked online at www.thetrainline.com.

Will I have an orientation?

If you hire bikes through us then when the bikes are delivered you will be given a brief orientation on how the bikes work and an overview of cycling in the area. If you choose not to use our bikes then this will not apply.

At the time of booking you will be given the option to pay extra to have a brief meeting (20-30 min) with a company representative who will talk you through the specific cycle routes and answer any questions you may have.

What are my options for bike hire?

Bikes are not include in the price. At the time of booking you have the option to choose to rent either quality hybrids or E-bikes. The hybrids we use are brand new Ridgeback Meteor Hybrids with 24 gears. The E-Bikes we use are Ridgeback Cyclones with a powerful motor that takes the effort out of the hills. All bikes come with helmet, panniers and lock. For more details see our blog post on bike hire.

Couple Traveller

My mom and I went as a college graduation gift for me because we had never been to the Cotswolds before and had heard biking was the way to see multiple towns–and that’s completely right! We’re both somewhat active, but not wildly so, so we were super pleased to see that there were different lengths/difficulties for the trips. Each trip had clear instructions and took us through absolutely beautiful back roads–we rarely saw cars, and when we did they were all courteous and very careful about driving around us. The bikes we had were really nice and well taken care of, and the instructions had great pointers/things to see in each of the towns we went through. The pubs recommended for lunch all had delicious menus (far from just traditional pub food, though they had that too) and the inn we stayed in (The Redesdale Arms) was also fantastic. Super easy to get to from London as well. Jamie was super responsive and helpful as well. 100% would (and have!) recommend to others! Thanks!
