Each break includes luggage transfers for one large suitcase per person. You need to leave it in reception on the morning you are moving villages and it will arrive at your destination by late afternoon.

What about solo travellers and those requiring their own room?

Solo travellers are welcome on this tour and a supplement applies to cover the cost of solo occupancy of a double/twin room and the extra cost incurred in moving one set of luggage instead of two and providing a set of route maps for one rather than two people. A supplement also applies to those requiring their own room. See extra tab for more details.

Am I fit enough?

We offer a variety of different cycle routes raining from 15 miles to 35 miles so there should be something to suit everyone. Please be aware that a good general level of fitness is required and that the Cotswolds is by nature hilly so there are occasional, short ascents but on the whole the routes are quiet and flat wherever possible. Electric bike hire is also available if you are worried about the hills.

When is the best time of year to go?

You can go any time of year but we recommend March to November as the best time of year for outdoor activities in the Cotswolds.

What should I bring?

We will provide you with a detailed pre-tour folder which includes a packing list but as a guide: layered cycle wear, waterproof jacket and trousers, comfortable trainers, warm jacket.

Do you offer London pickups?

Pick ups from London and other towns and villages can be arranged at an extra cost.

How long is this tour?

This tour last for 4 nights and 5 days with the option to extend by an extra night at the end of the tour

How do i get to the start of the tour?

The easiest option would be to get a direct train from London Paddington to Moreton-in-Marsh. Train tickets can be booked online at www.thetrainline.com. The tour will finish in Chipping Campden which is a short taxi or bus ride (Number 21/22) from Moreton-in-Marsh.

Will I be given an orientation?

If you hire bikes through us then when the bikes are delivered you will be given a brief orientation on how the bikes work and an overview of cycling in the area. If you choose not to use our bikes then this will not apply.

At the time of booking you will be given the option to pay extra to have a brief meeting (20-30 min) with a company representative who will talk you through the specific cycle routes and answer any questions you may have.

What are the options for bike hire?

Bikes are not include in the price. At the time of booking you have the option to choose to rent either quality hybrids or E-bikes. The hybrids we use are brand new Ridgeback Meteor Hybrids with 24 gears. The E-Bikes we use are Ridgeback Cyclones with a powerful motor that takes the effort out of the hills. All bikes come with helmet, panniers and lock. For more details see our blog post on bike hire.

Dave and Lisa

Couple Traveller

Dave here, Lisa’s husband.  Sorry one of us is just now getting back to you.  We’ve been on the fly these past couple of weeks, but today we have found some down time.

Lisa and I would like to let you know we had a wonderful time Cycling the Cotswolds.  All four days of our cycle adventure went without a hitch.  We enjoyed the first couple days which included various stops at the beautiful and quaint English villages … but equally enjoyed the last couple of days where we seemed to have longer stretches of biking on quieter roads out in the English countryside.  We truly enjoyed the package your company put together for us – – with the exception of the extremely steep and lengthy hill as we departed from Winchcombe.  That was an impossible hill – even with the e-bikes.

We’d also like to comment on the instructions that we were given which guided us each day.  They were written out so well and in such great detail, that we hardly ever needed to bother to check the included maps.  As well, we appreciated the points of interest and the recommended pubs in the instructions, as we would have otherwise not known where we should stop for a bite, and the recommended pubs turned out to be fantastic experiences for us.  A pat on the back for whomever wrote out those instructions.  Brilliant.

Your company put on a top notch program.  Our meeting with Mike was great, as our time with him as he overviewed our journey for each day, gave us the needed understanding and confidence to find our way about, over the four days of cycling.  He was so pleasant and personable.  We really enjoyed our time with him, and receiving his tips and pointers. As well, Jim, who delivered the bikes to us, was so thorough and informative as to the operation of the bikes and the removal and charging of the batteries – – that we never experienced any trouble whatsoever with the operation of the e-bikes.

While the Inns and B&B’s you arranged for us were fine, as they each kindly cater to hikers and cyclists, by far, our two night stay at the Lansdowne Inn was our favorite, as the quality level of the Lansdowne was excellent.  While the rooms at the other locations might not have been quite as nice – – the staff at both Noel Arms and White Hart treated us fabulously and were very accomodating.  Noel Arms particularly so – – as they allowed us to store a couple pieces of luggage with them for a few days.  They also moved us from the second floor to a first floor room when we requested if it was possible, and they took care to answer every question we threw at them when we first arrived and this was all new to us.

The luggage transfer also went smoothly and without a hitch.  All four of our smaller bags were always waiting for us upon our arrival to the respective inns.

On the return of the bikes, we charged up the batteries to full power again, and left everything together that was provided to us with the bikes.  I hope Jim had no trouble locating them, as Noel Arms had run out of room in their shed, and had us instead lock them up outside on their hidden patio in the back.  Of note – the map holder fell apart on us on our last day, as the screw that held it together had come undone and went missing while we were on the trail.  We placed the loose pieces inside the pannier.

A big thank you to you and your staff for planning and setting up a wonderful biking adventure in the Cotswolds for us.

With appreciation,

Dave & Lisa B

Dear Jamie , it has been a fantastic trip. The bikes are great and Jim’s orientation was superb.  The accommodations have been very comfortable and a fun experience . The pdx files have worked well with our Strava app ( I have only made a wrong turn once or twice ( well maybe 3 or 4 🙂 )  The countryside we have risen through is beautiful and other than a few necessary connections on busier roads we have enjoyed the quiet country roads and villages.  We spent the day at Hidcote gardens which was very relaxing.  Your guide has been great help to plan our next day.

We are getting ready in our lovely corner back room in the Noel Arms to travel to Stow.   I have run out of positive adjectives.

Thanks for touching base.   I must add that without exception the staff at hotels, store clerks, waiters, residents have been gracious and kind and welcoming

Had brilliant weekend despite the fact it rained heavily the whole time. Regardless of weather the cycling trip was perfectly organised for my friend and I by Jamie Boot. Received excellent customer service. Hotel we stayed in was amazing. Perfect location and the cycle routes were spot on as there were various types thus catering for all abilities. Would definitely book with Jamie again as he was able to answer all questions and was very helpful. Can’t wait to do again

We arranged for a three-day, four-night cycling tour with rented bicycles. The bikes were very nice, the mapped-out options for each day were wonderful (with both a longer and a shorter route), and the lodging was lovely. Jamie was so very helpful with everything. I highly recommend cycling in May when the fields of canola (rapeseed) plants are in full bloom — brilliant yellow fields checkerboard the hillsides. We had a fabulous time and fell in love with Chipping Campden (where we stayed two nights). Our only regret was that we didn’t book a longer trip.

My wife and I did a 5 day self guided cycling holiday in the Cotswolds which we organised through Cotswold Adventures. Everything was perfect including the weather. Great hotels, beautiful English countryside like you were in a Hobbit movie. The logistics with bikes and luggage transfers all went like clockwork. A very memorable experience.
