Cotswolds Cycling Break FAQ’s

Cotswolds Cycling Breaks FAQ’s

See below for some Frequently Asked Questions about our Self-guided Cotswold cycling breaks. If your question isn’t answered below please feel free to email us at info@cyclethecotswolds.com or call us on +44 01453 790725

What do your breaks include?

They include hand picked accommodation with breakfast each morning, luggage transfers between villages, tour folder with detailed route notes and maps, full support and bike hire (extra charge)

What about my luggage?

Each break includes luggage transfer(s) between lodgings, so you only need to worry about your day pack when you are moving accommodation. Each break includes luggage transfers for one large suitcase per person. You need to leave it in reception on the morning you are moving villages and it will arrive at your destination by late afternoon.

What about solo travellers and those requiring their own room?

Solo travellers are welcome on this tour and a supplement applies to cover the cost of solo occupancy of a double/twin room and the extra cost incurred in moving one set of luggage instead of two and providing a set of route maps for one rather than two people. A supplement also applies to those requiring their own room.

Am I fit enough?

We offer a variety of different cycle routes raining from 8 miles to 40 miles so there should be something to suit everyone. Please be aware that a good general level of fitness is required and that the Cotswolds is by nature hilly so there are occasional, short ascents but on the whole the routes are quiet and flat wherever possible. On the site you can also see the ascents for each days ride. If you are worried about the hills we also offer the option of electric bikes.

When is the best time of year to go?

You can go any time of year but we recommend March to October as the best time of year for outdoor activities in the Cotswolds.

Do you offer London pick ups?

Pick ups from London and other towns and villages can be arranged at an extra cost.

What should I bring?

We will provide you with a detailed pre-tour folder which includes a packing list but as a guide: layered cycle wear, waterproof jacket and trousers, comfortable trainers, warm jacket.

How do i get to the Cotswolds from London?

Generally the best way is to take a train from London Paddington to Moreton-in-Marsh- its direct and takes around 90 minutes. Many of our breaks start or finish in Moreton-in-Marsh. You auld also take a taxi, which would cost around £150 and take around 2 hours.
